Walking the extra mile: Chris Thompson supports Brain Tumour Research
Last month, our Systems Operations Manager Chris Thompson and his partner were determined to participate in a charity walk for Brain Tumour Research, even though they were on holiday when the walk took place. Undeterred, they decided to complete the same distance while on their trip to Lanzarote. Dedicating part of their holiday, to fundraise for the charity, they demonstrated a true commitment to a cause that is very close to their heart.
Contending with heat of the Canary Islands, the pair set off early in the day and completed
the strenuous walk in just over three hours - a truly fantastic effort.

For Chris, the motivation to raise funds to advance research into brain tumours is deeply personal. Chris sadly lost a close friend and, more recently, his partner Amanda has seen first hand the difficult battle facing the headteacher's husband at her school. Their commitment serves as a powerful reminder of how this illness affects so many lives.
Since 2017, Amanda and Chris with all the other walkers have raised a fantastic £36k for the brain tumour charity.
If you are able to spare anything for their sponsored walk and this critical research, it would mean a great deal to Chris and the countless families affected by brain tumours.
